About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to join our Recycling team as an Assistant/Trainee Recycling Manager at our busy operation in Hithermoor, Staines.

Reporting to the Recycling Manager, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your management and operational skills within a fast-paced recycling environment. You will work closely with site Supervisors and Operatives, playing a key role in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental performance, while supporting the efficient day-to-day running of the operation.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone looking to build a long-term career in the recycling and aggregates industry, with the opportunity to learn, develop and make a real impact on the business.

About Your Role

Support the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
Assist in driving continuous improvement through effective planning, organisation and performance monitoring.
Develop a strong understanding of all aspects of the operation through a hands-on approach to site management.
Monitor incoming waste streams and liaise with other departments regarding material quality and compliance requirements.
Promote and contribute to a positive SHEQ culture, ensuring company standards and procedures are followed at all times.
Lead by example and help set high standards for employees, contractors and site visitors.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across Commercial, Transport, Technical and other support functions.
Support the effective utilisation of people, plant and equipment to maximise operational performance.
Assist with the completion of site records, reporting requirements and performance monitoring activities.
Contribute to the development of operational processes and site efficiencies.

We're Looking For

Previous experience in recycling, waste management, aggregates, quarrying or a similar operational environment.
An aspiring leader looking to develop a career in operational management.
A team player who is equally comfortable working in an office environment and actively participating in site operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships.
The ability to remain focused and organised in a busy operational environment.
Experience of, or willingness to learn, site administration, record keeping and performance monitoring.
A self-motivated individual who takes ownership of their responsibilities and demonstrates a proactive approach.
A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
