Social Hotspot is hiring a Video Content Strategist in Manchester — a part-time role to start (around 30 hours a week) that grows into full-time as you prove yourself, with pay between £10.85 and £12.71 an hour depending on age , rising into the £22,000–£27,000+ range as the role expands. This is an on-site, travel-heavy position, not remote, so we're only considering candidates based in Manchester or within easy commuting distance.
We're a fast-growing UK agency helping UK trades businesses — bathroom, kitchen and window companies — win customers through Meta advertising. We're scaling from 80 to 120+ clients over the next year, and we want someone who grows into owning how that story gets told, not just documents it.
THE ROLE
You'll be at every client shoot alongside our founder new clients and existing ones filming long-form content for YouTube and short-form content for our own social channels. From there, you own the strategy behind it: what gets made, why, and how it performs. You'll edit it yourself, or brief our existing editors to get it published on schedule. And you'll write and strategise the paid ad creative scripts to generate more clients for the business, working closely with our co-founder.
This isn't a role where you wait to be told what to make. We want someone who already knows how to do this well and is ready to own it.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Filming client shoots and founder content, long-form and short-form
- Content strategy across YouTube and our social channels (Instagram and Facebook)
- Editing, or directing our existing editors, to a consistent publishing schedule
- Writing and strategising paid ad creative scripts for internal campaigns
WHAT WE NEED
- Real videography experience — you shoot confidently and know how to get what you need on-site
- Real editing experience, long-form and short-form
- Creative or content strategy experience — you understand what makes content perform, not just how to produce it
- A track record of creating and growing content across social platforms
- A portfolio or reel of previous work is required for this role
STRUCTURE
Part-time to start, moving to full-time as our capacity needs grow. The scope of the role doesn't change between part-time and full-time — this is about hours and commitment scaling, not responsibility.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
- Real ownership from day one — this isn't a role where ideas need permission
- Direct collaboration with the founder and our media buying team on live client campaigns
- A front-row seat as we scale toward 120 clients and a 20-person team
- A clear path to full-time as the business grows into needing it

We read every application but we only seriously consider people who follow this process. It tells us a lot about how you work.

Step 2: Include the video link in your CV or cover letter.
Step 3: Submit your application. We'll be in touch within a few working days if you're shortlisted.
