Fundraiser Officer Job Description

Organisation: Northampton Hope Centre Charity
Job Title: Fundraiser Officer (Part-Time)
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Salary: £10,140 per annum
Hours: 15 hours per week (3 days per week, 5 hours per day)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as required
Contract Type: Part-Time

About Northampton Hope Centre

Northampton Hope Centre supports people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and social exclusion. We provide practical support, advice, and opportunities that help individuals rebuild their lives and achieve greater independence.

Purpose of the Role

The Fundraiser will play a key role in generating income to support the charity's services and projects. Working closely with the management team, volunteers, local businesses, community groups, and supporters, the successful candidate will help organise fundraising activities, develop donor relationships, and identify new funding opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising

Develop and implement fundraising initiatives to support the charity's income targets.
Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and supporters.
Encourage regular giving and corporate sponsorship.
Support legacy and individual giving campaigns.

Events and Community Engagement

Organise and promote fundraising events and campaigns.
Represent the charity at community events, networking meetings, and fundraising activities.
Support volunteers involved in fundraising initiatives.
Develop partnerships with local businesses, schools, faith groups, and community organisations.

Marketing and Communications

Assist with fundraising communications through social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
Help create compelling fundraising appeals and supporter updates.
Maintain accurate donor records in line with GDPR requirements.

Administration and Reporting

Monitor and report on fundraising activities and outcomes.
Maintain records of donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events.
Support the preparation of reports for trustees, funders, and senior management.
Ensure fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and best practice.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of people.
Good organisational and administrative skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Passion for supporting vulnerable people and commitment to the charity's values.

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or community engagement.
Knowledge of the charity or voluntary sector.
Experience using social media for promotional purposes.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Working Hours

15 hours per week
3 days per week, typically 5 hours per day
Working days to be agreed between Monday and Friday
Flexibility required to attend occasional evening and weekend events
Any extra hours will be given in TOIL
