Job Description:

Overview

We are looking for a capable and experienced individual to join our Tool Hire & Repairs team specialising in floor prep and floor sanding equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining hire equipment, along with strong mechanical knowledge and a customer-focused approach. This role involves diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is safe, operational, and ready for hire.

Responsibilities

The maintenance, repair and statutory compliance of the tools and equipment in the hire fleet.
To oversee the customer tool repairs division and to diagnose, troubleshoot and carry out technical repair of equipment.
Carry out PAT Testing on all electrical tools.
Test and run all tools to ensure they are in good working order ready for hire.
Maintain accurate service and repair records.
Manage parts and stock needed and ensure workshop is kept to a high standard.
Assist on the trade counter and with loading deliveries and collections.
Cover for deliveries and collections as required.
Ensure all work undertaken is safe and complies with safety standards.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in equipment servicing and repairs within the tool or plant hire industry (minimum 3 years).
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
Ability to read and understand machine drawings and schematics.
Qualified PAT tester.
Organised and methodical approach to work, taking pride in delivery.
Good communication skills and professional customer service skills.
‘Can do’ attitude to work and helping in other areas of the company.

· Physical fitness and stamina for lifting

Full UK driving licence
