Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of machinery and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are maintained. The successful applicant will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and machinery using schematics and technical manuals
Diagnose mechanical problems accurately and efficiently
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly and repair tasks
Interpret technical diagrams and schematics to facilitate repairs
Carry out equipment repair and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency
Assist with the installation of new parts or systems as required
Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or heavy components
Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair procedures and recommendations clearly

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Motor Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of vehicle systems
Mechanical knowledge across various vehicle types and machinery
Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques
Strong maintenance skills with the ability to troubleshoot effectively
Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential

Hours of work

Monday - Friday 8.15am - 17.15pm

Salary negotiable dependant on experience
