PART-TIME

Hybrid Working/Newmarket Office Location.

Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper to take full responsibility for the finance function. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will manage all day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Sole responsibility for the bookkeeping and accounts function using Sage
Perform bank reconciliations, including foreign currency accounts
Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for Directors and senior management
Manage all aspects of the sales and purchase ledgers
Process supplier payments, including foreign currency transactions
Oversee credit control and maintain strong customer account management
Process payroll, including timesheets, PAYE reporting, HMRC submissions, and employee and contractor payments
Manage employee holiday records and approve staff expenses
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in compliance with relevant legislation

Skills & Experience:

Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounts management role
Strong working knowledge of Sage
Experience processing payroll and HMRC submissions
Confident preparing VAT returns and monthly management accounts
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and manage the accounts function
Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with Directors

Pay: £23,000.00 per year
