We are currently recruiting for a Van Driver/Trainee Photocopier Engineer to work from our Newcastle office. The successful candidate will be responsible for basic device set-up, delivery and install of our Copier, Printer and Mailroom products to customers across the UK.

Whilst the main duty of this role will be delivering our equipment to customers, the successful candidate will also be given inhouse & manufacturers training on various Office equipment. They will also receive support & experience from the current Field Service Engineering team to develop a competency in setting up, installing & repairing office equipment.

The candidate will be based in Newcastle area and will cover areas across the North East of England.

The Role

Operate a long wheel-based van or a vehicle equivalent in size and/or load capacity to transport goods to and from specified destinations, as directed.
Fuel the assigned vehicle using fuel card.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as checking oil, water, and tyres; report any non-routine problems or malfunctioning equipment to management.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Assist in the creation of appropriate van schedule and ensure the plan is deliverable/achievable within designated working hours.
Read and interpret van schedule and assist/plan the most efficient route and service for customers.
Provide a communication link between customers and staff.
Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
Follow specified instructions, procedures, and standards for the efficient and safe operation of the vehicle.
Conform to all local traffic laws and regulations governing the operation of a commercial van.
Assist in maintaining the warehouse in an organised and efficient manner
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Deliver/setup machines to “Green button demonstration”
Servicing Toshiba, Lexmark and Samsung MFD’s/Printers and Mailroom Products (full training provided)
Shadow/buddy with lead engineer
Installing photocopiers/Printers/Mailroom products
Setting up photocopiers/Printers/Mailroom products
Networking photocopiers/Printers/Mailroom products
Liaise with Logistics Controller

Requirements

This is a customer facing role, the candidate must be professional in both manner and appearance at all times
The candidate must have the ability to work under pressure, on their own initiative and as part of a team
Good time keeping and communication skills are imperative
The candidate must have the ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels
The candidate must be eager to learn and succeed
Able to work under pressure
Able to take ownership of workload
Deal with problems as quickly and efficiently as possible
Able to think logically and laterally
Be a team player
A clean licence is required (a maximum of 3 points would be acceptable)

This is a full time, permanent position. Hours of work are 08:30-17:00 Monday to Friday.
