Full job description

Job Summary

We are looking for a Care Home Cleaner to join our team and help maintain a safe, hygienic, and welcoming environment for residents. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the care home are clean and well-cared for.

Maintaining a cleanly environment contributes to the well-being of our residents, who are often too poorly to manage their own spaces effectively. Our residents have a range of mental health issues, such as schizophrenia and come from all ages and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Perform thorough cleaning of resident rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and corridors using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
Maintain cleanliness in laundry areas, waste disposal zones, and storage spaces in accordance with health regulations.
Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistent hygiene practices across the facility.
Adhere to infection control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Support the overall cleanliness of the care home environment to foster a safe and welcoming space for residents and staff.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles, preferably within healthcare or care home settings.
Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, disinfectants, and sanitation standards.
Good communication skills for reporting issues and coordinating with team members.
Physical stamina to perform cleaning duties that involve standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment regularly.
