Full job description

Overview
We are looking for someone to join our multi-disiplinary team. Our Pharmacy Dispensers play a crucial role in our busy pharmacy, ensuring that patients receive their medications accurately and safely. This position involves working closely with team-members and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of practice within the pharmacy environment. Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirable. We would consider candidates with no previous pharmacy experience but have worked in other high-paced environments that would be suitably placed in a medicine counter assistant role.

Responsibilities

Accurately dispense medications as per prescriptions while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements.
Assist in the preparation of medication for patients, ensuring correct dosages and formulations.
Provide information and guidance to patients regarding their medications, including usage, side effects, and storage.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications.
Support the pharmacy team in delivering high-quality patient care through effective communication and teamwork.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance professional skills.

Skills

Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser is highly desirable. If no experience in pharmacy, experience in a high-paced environment is a necessity.
Strong patient care skills with the ability to empathise and communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in dispensing medications.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
Able to use computers to maintain accurate patient records, assist with ordering stock and support patients
