University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Recruitment Administrator to join our Recruitment Team.

This is a great opportunity to develop valuable administration, customer service and digital skills whilst gaining practical experience in a busy NHS recruitment environment. You will receive ongoing support, training and mentoring throughout your apprenticeship programme, helping you build the knowledge and confidence needed for a successful career.

No previous recruitment experience is required. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and excellent customer service skills.

What you'll be doing

Working as part of our friendly Recruitment Team, you will:
Provide administrative support across the recruitment service.
Respond to enquiries via telephone, email and Microsoft Teams.
Support candidates, managers and colleagues throughout the recruitment process.
Maintain accurate records using recruitment systems and databases.
Assist with filing, document management and digital record keeping.
Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Support team inbox management and help ensure enquiries are dealt with efficiently.
Develop your understanding of NHS recruitment and workforce processes.
Contribute ideas to improve administrative processes and digital ways of working.

What we're looking for

We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and experiences. You will need:

GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or Functional Skills Level 2).
Basic keyboard and IT skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive and flexible approach to work.
The ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
A commitment to learning and completing the apprenticeship programme.

Our hospitals admit an average of 195 emergency patients daily.

Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres.

We are one of only 7 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres.

We carry out more than 140 elective procedures each working day.

UHDB is a research active University Hospital with a large and varied portfolio of clinical trials and research opportunities for all staff.

This is an 15-18 month Apprenticeship opportunity, with the expectation to complete the apprenticeship programme, including mandatory training, with the timeframe.
