Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher for our Saturday morning performing arts school in Thornbury. The ideal candidate will have a background specialist background in Drama and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring students of all ages. Some experience in dance and singing would be advantageous. This role requires creativity, patience, and the ability to foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to express themselves through performing arts.

Duties

Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the skill levels of students.
Teach various acting styles, ensuring proper techniques and safety measures are followed.
Create lesson plans that incorporate technical progressions.
Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills.
Organise and participate in recitals, performances, and competitions as needed.
Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere in the classroom.
Collaborate with other teachers to enhance the overall curriculum and student experience.
Keep up-to-date with trends and techniques to continually improve teaching methods.

Skills

Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions and feedback.
Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying ages and abilities.
Strong organisational skills to manage class schedules and lesson plans.
Patience and adaptability when working with diverse learning styles.
A background in directing is advantageous but not essential.
First Aid certification is a plus.

Saturdays: 10:00 - 13:00
