Full job description

About the Role

GoVets is an independent, RCVS-accredited veterinary practice in Manchester.

We are looking for an experienced, target-driven salesperson to join our team and take responsibility for growing our Healthcare Plan membership base.

This is a sales role — not a general customer service or reception position.

We are specifically looking for someone with a proven track record in sales, who is confident working to targets, converting leads, handling objections and closing.

Your primary objective will be simple: increase Healthcare Plan memberships.

You will speak with new and existing GoVets clients by telephone, in person and by email, identify opportunities, explain the value of membership and confidently convert those conversations into new Healthcare Plan members.

If you are commercially driven, competitive, confident speaking with customers and motivated by targets and uncapped commission, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day role will be heavily focused on sales, conversion and follow-up, including:

* Proactively selling GoVets Healthcare Plans to new and existing clients.

* Contacting prospective members and following up sales opportunities.

* Converting enquiries and interested clients into paying members.

* Identifying sales opportunities within our existing client base.

* Confidently presenting the benefits and value of our Healthcare Plans.

* Handling questions and overcoming objections.

* Asking for the sale and closing memberships.

* Working towards clear weekly and monthly sales targets.

* Consistently achieving and exceeding membership targets.

* Maintaining an organised pipeline of prospects and follow-ups.

* Recording sales activity, conversations and outcomes accurately.

* Working with our reception and clinical teams to identify membership opportunities.

* Developing strong client relationships that support long-term membership retention.

Who We’re Looking For

We are not looking for someone wanting to move into sales for the first time.

You must already be an experienced salesperson who can demonstrate previous success in a target-driven sales environment.

Essential Requirements

* Minimum 3 years’ proven sales experience.

* A demonstrable track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

* Experience working in a target/KPI-driven sales environment.

* Strong closing ability and confidence asking for the sale.

* Experience handling objections and converting hesitant prospects.

* Excellent telephone and face-to-face sales skills.

* Confident following up leads rather than waiting for customers to make a decision.

* Commercially minded and motivated by results.

* Comfortable being measured against individual sales performance.

* Highly organised with the ability to manage a sales pipeline and follow-ups.

* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

* Self-motivated, resilient and proactive.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous, but is not essential:

* Membership sales

* Insurance sales

* Healthcare sales

* Veterinary or pet-care industry

* Telephone sales

* Subscription-based sales

* CRM or sales pipeline management

Veterinary experience is not required. We can teach you about our Healthcare Plans and veterinary services.

What we cannot teach from scratch is the sales experience we are looking for.

What Success Looks Like

This position has clear commercial objectives.

You will be expected to:

* Consistently grow Healthcare Plan memberships.

* Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets.

* Maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective members.

* Follow up opportunities consistently.

* Deliver strong conversion rates.

* Provide an excellent client experience while achieving commercial results.

Your performance will be measured primarily on sales activity, conversions and membership growth.
