Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate Senior Chef de Partie/Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen standards, and supporting the overall operation of the kitchen. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those with a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook dishes to meet specified recipes and presentation standards
Assist in the organisation and management of designated sections within the kitchen
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations before, during, and after service
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste
Support junior kitchen staff with training and guidance as needed
Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements based on current trends and customer feedback

Skills

Some experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of meal preparation techniques across various cuisines
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
Ability to serve dishes promptly while maintaining quality standards
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a team
Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning in the hospitality industry
