Job Summary
Dr's McVerry, McGee & Farnon are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionists to join our healthcare team based in The Health Village in Newry.

The position is for 16 hours per week on a Monday and Thursday or Tuesday & Thursday 9am - 6pm.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where attention to detail and compassion are highly valued.

Duties

Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
Manage appointment scheduling and cancellations using practice management software
Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries appropriately
Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently
Handle correspondence, including emails and postal mail
Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well-stocked with necessary supplies
Support other administrative tasks as required to ensure smooth clinic operations

Qualifications

Dr's McVerry, McGee & Farnon are seeking a professional and organised Medical Receptionists to join our healthcare team based in The Health Village in Newry.

We have 2 positions available with hours ranging from 16 - 20 hrs per week. The hours of work are from 9am - 6pm.

The positions are initially for a fixed 9 month term covering maternity leave, however there are potential opportunities for a permanent contract for suitable candidates.

Answer phone calls promptly and professionally, directing enquiries appropriately

Qualifications

Previous administrative experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for specific systems used in the practice
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to remain calm under pressure and demonstrate empathy towards patients
