Full job description

Anderson Barrowcliff is a thriving and forward-thinking firm of Teesside-based Chartered Accountants looking for an experienced and proactive Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a varied client base and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio of clients
Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations and journals
Preparing and filing VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements
Preparing periodic management accounts and reporting for a wide variety of clients
Posting period-end adjustments including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide timely financial information
Supporting the wider team with day-to-day accounting operations

About You:

Proven bookkeeping experience
AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience
Sound working knowledge of VAT and Making Tax Digital
Experience of preparing management accounts and periodic reporting
Proficient in cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Confident, professional communicator, comfortable dealing directly with clients
Able to manage multiple client deadlines and prioritise effectively
