Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking vigilant and professional Security Officers to safeguard premises, staff, visitors and assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through proactive surveillance and effective security measures, and safeguarding techniques. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and quick decision-making are essential. The Security Officer will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and security of all people and property. Officers are required across all of Norfolk County Council.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols of the premises to monitor for suspicious activity or security breaches.
Implement loss prevention strategies by identifying potential theft or vandalism risks.
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, including providing first aid if necessary.
Maintain detailed logs of patrols, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
Enforce site policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Liaise with law enforcement or emergency services when required, providing accurate information and assistance.
Assist visitors and staff with security-related queries in a professional manner.

Experience

Prior experience in security roles is preferred but not essential; comprehensive training will be provided.
Familiarity with safeguarding methods and security protocols is desirable.
Certification in first aid is mandatory.
Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential qualities for success in this role.
