Salary: £26,500 - £30,000 per annum
Location: Chilcomb, Winchester

Hours: 37 hours per week

Type of Contract: Permanent

Can you help ensure Hampshire's collections are cared for, documented and made accessible for future generations?

As Assistant Collections Manager, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day care, documentation and accessibility of Hampshire Cultural Trust's collections. Working as part of the Collections & Interpretation team, you'll support everything from acquisitions, loans and exhibitions to research enquiries and digital access.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll help maintain collections records to Accreditation standards, prepare objects for display, monitor collection environments and support volunteers. You'll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to ensure our collections are well cared for, accessible and at the heart of our programmes and visitor experiences.

A bit about you

You'll have experience working with museum collections and a good understanding of collection documentation, collection care, and museum standards. Organised and detail-focused, you'll be confident managing a varied workload and balancing day-to-day collections work with longer-term projects.

You'll be comfortable working with collection management systems and maintaining accurate records, while also taking a practical, hands-on approach to object care, displays, loans and exhibitions. You enjoy solving problems, spotting improvements and finding ways to make collections more accessible and useful to colleagues, researchers and the public.

You'll be a strong communicator who enjoys working with a wide range of people. Whether supporting volunteers, responding to enquiries or collaborating with colleagues across the Trust, you'll build positive relationships and be happy sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Most importantly, you'll be committed to maintaining high collections standards while improving access and engagement.
