JOB TITLE: Production line leader

REPORTS TO: Senior Line Leader

LOCATION: Mission Produce UK LTD, Dartford, Kent (on-site)

Mission Produce is the global leader in the worldwide avocado business, with additional offerings in mangos. Since 1983, we have invested in people, state-of-the-art technology, and avocado-specific and ripening infrastructure to expertly serve our customers, growers, and partners in over 25 countries. We own and operate four packing facilities in multiple global locations including California, Mexico, Peru, and UK. Our global distribution network includes 12 forward distribution centres in North America, China, and Europe, which promote company expansion into new territories and categories. Throughout our history, we have remained rooted in honesty, respect, and loyalty to provide a year-round supply of high-quality fruit from field to fork.

Job Summary
Delivery of daily packing plan ensuring all orders are packed to customer specification within agreed time restraints and KPIs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Ensuring that for their area risk assessments, regular inspections and audits are carried out.

· Ensuring that the operations under their control are, as far as is reasonably practicable, conducted without detriment to the health and safety of employees or others who may be affected by their activities;

· Ensuring that the Safety Management System is effectively implemented within their areas of responsibility.

· Implement and maintain workplace precautions suitable to the working environment and as identified in risk assessments.

· Ensuring that all accidents, incidents and near misses reported to them are documented and investigated correctly.

· Provide suitable levels of information, instruction, training and supervision to employees in their area.

· Ensuring that it is comprehensible and understood by the person to whom it is addressed.

· Provide feedback on performance including successes and failure of plans or precautions.

· Ensure effective communication through their departments of Health & Safety activities.

· Maintaining safety discipline within their area of responsibility.

· Ensuring that any remedial actions that are beyond their scope of authorization are brought to the attention of their immediate superior.

· Ensure all start up and shut down checks are completed for all lines

· Assist in packing orders following the specific customer requirements

· Ensure correct packaging and labels are being used on all lines

· Ensure lines are continuously running throughout shift

· Ensure all information for packing jobs are kept up to date

· Check packaging has correct labels

· Ensure all pallets are end labeled correctly

· Ensure all unused labels are returned to label room after each job

· Review KPIs hourly and brief operatives on progress

· Lead and coach production operative team members

· Carry out Additional tasks as requested

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

· 1 years’ experience working within a production facility

· Experience packing on a line or similar type of work

· Knowledge of fresh produce packing requirements

· Understanding of fresh produce quality expectations

· Good interpersonal skills

· Good written and verbal skills

· Good understanding of written English

· Good organizational and time management skills

· Ability to work with a variety of cross-functional team members

· Competent in problem-solving

· Understanding of ERP systems such as SAP, Fresh ware , D365

Job Type: Full-time
