Full job description

We’re excited to say we’re looking for a Delivery Driver to join us at our Birmingham branch.

Based in the building and construction sector, we are the leading seller of external wall insulation systems in the South East. We have a large database of installers across the UK who use our systems and materials, and we now have branches throughout the South-East England where we sell, deliver and stock our materials.

We are keen to maintain strong a relationship with our customers and internal staff within EWI Store, so excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are also necessary. Our delivery drivers are an essential asset to our company, ensuring that our installers and customers receive goods on time so as not to delay their work.

Your responsibilities will be to:

Drive assigned vans on predetermined routes, ensuring that priority lists are adhered to.
Map short and efficient routes using both the GPS and standard maps, to ensure timely deliveries.
Unload materials at destinations.
Provide customers with paperwork related to their deliveries.
Receive and log payments from customers and issue receipts according to specifications provided by the company.
Communicate with the office dispatch unit to provide them with information on completed deliveries.
Carry out other tasks that are ah-hoc and the discretion of the line manager.
Call customers as required to discuss the delivery.
Loading deliveries for next day if you have finished your deliveries early.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Full, clean UK driving licence
Licence must be held for four years or more
Experience driving Luton Vans
Ability to speak and read English
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to be organised, ensuring deliveries are on time
Flexibility is key - your contracted hours will be 8am - 5pm.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £28,000.00 per year
