We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Five Wells, a category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

HMP Five Wells has a capacity of 1800 males.

HMP Five Wells is a GPHC Registered Pharmacy, the prison has its own pharmacy on site with 7 administration points based on each house block and will be working as part of a large pharmacy team of 14

Hours:

Monday - Sunday service
37.5 hours per week
Week 1 & 3 - 4 days
Week 2 & 4 - 3 days
Every other weekends
Weekdays - 7am - 7.15pm
Weekends - 8.00am - 5.30pm

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 - £41,658 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will

You will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison service’s needs.

develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.

Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
