Overview
SGH Civils and Surfacing Ltd are seeking experienced Civils Groundworkers to join our construction team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in groundworks, with the ability to operate various tools and machinery safely and efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to large-scale civil engineering projects, ensuring high standards of safety and quality throughout all phases of work.

Duties

Excavate and prepare sites for foundations, drainage, and other civil engineering works using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators
Lay foundations, kerbs, pavements, and other groundworks in accordance with project specifications
Operate mechanical equipment including excavators and welding apparatus as required
Install drainage systems and perform related tasks with precision and attention to detail
Use hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, and fixing materials
Assist with setting out and levelling work to ensure compliance with design plans
Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations

Skills

Proven experience as a Civils Groundworker on similar projects
Proficiency in operating excavators and other heavy machinery
Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for various construction activities
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow technical drawings and instructions accurately

Pay: From £16.00 per hour
