Full job description

Are you looking for a new role where you can increase your experience and expand your skill set working on some very exciting and often bespoke projects. Come and join a growing and well-established company supplying some of the south coast’s most prestigious companies within the Aviation, Automotive and Marine industries. We are always looking to expand and develop our team with driven and enthusiastic individuals who want to make a name for themselves within the company and within the industry.

We are seeking an experienced Welder & Fabricator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating components from drawings and performing welding operations to join components. The ideal candidate should have experience in both MIG and TIG welding, as well as the ability to read engineering drawings and use hand tools and other equipment to fabricate and assemble components to exact specifications. You should have knowledge of a range of materials and processes is essential, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. The role requires excellent attention to detail and an ability to work to meet deadlines. If you have a passion for working with metal, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well within a team environment, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment using hand tools, welding equipment, and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the specific welding requirements
- Measure, cut, and shape metal components to precise measurements
- Using a variety of welding techniques, including tungsten inert gas (TIG) and metal inert gas (MIG)
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality assurance
- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accurate measurements and dimensions
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to complete fabrication tasks
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient production processes

Requirements & Skills
- Proficient in welding techniques, TIG and MIG are essential
- Strong welding skills with experience in sheet metal fabrication
- Knowledge of various hand tools used in metal fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery used in metal fabrication processes
- Strong ability to assemble and fabricate metal structures according to specifications
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and problem-solving
