Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital role, you will support the culinary staff by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Your efforts will ensure that food preparation and service operate seamlessly, allowing chefs to focus on creating exceptional dishes. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting while contributing to an outstanding guest experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support chefs and kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
Ensure all kitchen equipment and surfaces are sanitized and properly stored
Support the organization of ingredients and supplies for efficient workflow
Dispose of waste responsibly and manage recycling procedures in accordance with health standards
Help with setting up dining areas and assisting serving staff when needed
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to uphold hygiene standards throughout the kitchen

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is advantageous, demonstrating familiarity with fast-paced environments
Strong understanding of kitchen safety protocols and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a busy setting
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
A proactive attitude with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization
Willingness to undertake training related to culinary techniques, health standards, and safety procedures
