Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic food production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of a variety of pies, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality are maintained at all times. This position is ideal for someone with a keen interest in culinary arts and a desire to grow within the hospitality industry.

Duties

Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various recipes, including chopping, peeling, and measuring
Cook and assemble dishes according to specified recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
Support the team in food presentation and garnishing to ensure visual appeal
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and other appliances
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent cross-contamination and accidents
Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues

Experience

Previous experience in food production or preparation is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous
Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is beneficial but not mandatory
Basic cooking skills, including baking and food presentation, are preferred
Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance is a plus
A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques
