Learning Support Workers (Teaching Assistants) – Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available

Location: Alderwasley Hall School, Derbyshire

Salary: £22,871.04 - £23,639.36 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only – Monday to Friday (08:15-16:15)

Part-Time Opportunities Available: 4 full days per week or 3 full days per week (08:15-16:15)

At Alderwasley Hall School, our Learning Support Workers play a vital role in helping young people with autism, communication needs and associated difficulties to thrive both academically and socially. We currently have both full-time and part-time opportunities available across our school sites. With over 100 Learning Support Assistants working across the school, we recruit throughout the year as new students join us and are always keen to hear from enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who want to make a genuine difference.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Worker, you will work alongside teachers and specialist professionals to support students throughout their school day.

You will:

Help create a safe, happy and nurturing learning environment.
Support students to access learning and achieve their individual goals.
Build positive relationships that promote confidence and independence.
Encourage communication, social development and emotional wellbeing.
Celebrate achievements, however big or small.
Support teachers, the curriculum and the wider school community.

In possession of good numeracy and literacy skills.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of SEND and the needs of young people.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Previous classroom or learning support experience.
GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
SEND knowledge and understanding.
