Pharmacy Assistant

Location: Millar & McGowan Pharmacy, Rutherglen

Hours: Full-time / Part-time (to be discussed)

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Join Our Friendly Pharmacy Team!

Millar & McGowan Pharmacy is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our welcoming team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys helping people and wants to make a real difference within the local community. Previous pharmacy experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.

As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for many of our patients, providing excellent customer service while supporting the pharmacist and wider pharmacy team in the day-to-day running of the pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a warm, friendly and professional service to all patients and customers.
Assist customers with over-the-counter medicines and healthcare products within your level of training.
Receive and process prescriptions.
Order, receive and replenish stock.
Merchandise retail displays and maintain a clean, organised shop floor.
Operate the till and process customer transactions.
Answer telephone enquiries and direct calls appropriately.
Support the pharmacy team with administrative duties.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with pharmacy procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Promote NHS and private pharmacy services where appropriate.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has excellent communication and customer service skills.
Enjoys working with people and delivering outstanding patient care.
Is organised, reliable and able to work in a busy environment.
Has good attention to detail.
Works well as part of a team.
Is willing to learn and develop new skills.
Has basic IT skills.

Desirable Skills

Previous customer service or retail experience.
Previous pharmacy experience.
Medicines Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification (desirable but not essential).
Knowledge of healthcare products and services.
