Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet looks and feels their best. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal welfare and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. The ideal applicant will have a genuine love for animals, excellent grooming skills, and the ability to create a positive experience for both pets and their owners.

Duties

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate techniques and products
Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Cleaning ears, trimming nails, and expressing glands as needed
Maintaining a clean and organised grooming station, including sanitising tools and equipment
Handling pets with care and patience to minimise stress during grooming procedures
Providing advice to pet owners on ongoing grooming needs and animal health care
Managing appointment schedules efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
Monitoring pets for signs of health issues or discomfort during grooming sessions and reporting concerns to owners or veterinary professionals

Experience

Previous experience in dog grooming or animal care is highly desirable
Knowledge of veterinary practices related to pet health is a plus
Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and address their concerns
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger dogs onto grooming tables or into baths
Passion for animals with a gentle approach towards nervous or anxious pets
Organised with the ability to manage multiple appointments while maintaining high standards of care
