Trading Assistant

Rate: £13.23 per hour
Location: Shipston-on-Stour Store, Shipston-on-stour, CV36 4QZ
Hours: Part time, 12-24 hours per week

As one of our Trading Assistants, you’ll be the special ingredient that ensures our stores are set up brilliantly to give our customers everything they come to Sainsbury’s for.

You must be above the school-leaver age in your country School leaving age - GOV.UK
You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
If the shifts for this role cover hours earlier than 6am or later than 11pm, you will need to be at least 18 years of age

Join our brand-new Shipston-On- Stour Store!

We’re excited to offer the opportunity to join our team, with a range of hours and shifts available. This is your chance to play a key role in working across the store, delivering great service and creating a welcoming experience for every customer. If you’re passionate, flexible and ready to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Your weekly hours will be scheduled within an agreed availability pattern, and you’ll receive at least 3 weeks’ notice of your shifts. Your availability and preferred hours will be discussed at interview.

Application Guidance:

You only need to submit one application for this store as all roles will be considered. Multiple applications will be withdrawn.
Interviews will be held at Wellesbourne Store, Loxley Road, Wellesbourne, CV35 9JY.
Training will likely take place at our Wellesbourne Store.

When applying, please consider your preferred contract length between 12-24 hours, weekly availability and any times you are unable to work.

Our store operates 7 days a week between 6am-11pm, so we ask for around 50% additional availability (for example, a 12-hour contract would typically require 20-24 hours availability across the week). This flexibility helps us ensure we’re always there for our customers, while also working with you to find a pattern that supports a positive work–life balance.

What you’ll be doing:

Delivering brilliant customer service across all areas, including checkouts, self-service tills and kiosk - confidently answering questions and proactively offering help
Replenishing stock across the store, including collecting items from the warehouse using roll cages (up to 15kg), ensuring shelves are tidy, full and products are well presented
Picking and selecting high-quality products for customers using our on-demand grocery service, and supporting with Click & Collect orders
Building strong knowledge of our products, services and promotions to provide helpful recommendations
Supporting with key store activities such as date checking, handling refunds and queries, shelf ticketing and store standards
Safely supporting with operational tasks including trolley retrieval and deliveries
Working flexibly across all areas of the store, maintaining a clean, safe and clutter-free environment and stepping in wherever support is needed
