Bread Baker

Day & Night Shifts Available

The Village Bakery - Sheering, Essex

We’re looking for an experienced Bread Baker to join our growing, award-winning wholesale bakery.

We produce a wide range of artisan breads for cafés, restaurants, farm shops, hotels and other hospitality businesses, and we’re looking for someone with a real passion for producing consistently excellent bread.

The Role

You’ll be involved in producing our range of breads, including:

Sourdough
Artisan loaves
Baguettes
Rolls
Focaccia
Speciality and seasonal breads

Duties will include mixing, shaping, proving and baking, while maintaining excellent standards of quality and consistency.

Shifts Available

We currently have opportunities on both:

Day Shift and Night Shift

We’re happy to discuss shift patterns depending on experience and availability.

What We’re Looking For

Previous bread baking experience is essential
Experience with sourdough and artisan bread is highly desirable
Confident mixing, shaping, proving and baking dough
Good understanding of fermentation and dough development
Able to work efficiently in a busy commercial bakery
Excellent attention to quality and consistency
Reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Good food hygiene standards
Own transport is essential due to our location and shift times
