About the role

Balfour Beatty Power T&D are looking for a Senior CAD Technician to join their team in Derby.

Role Purpose

Produce a range of Drawings and Material Schedules to the required standard first time and within time scales set.
Assist in the checking of Documents produced by other members of the team.
To actively develop working methods to improve the quality and quantity of the output.

What you'll be doing

Accountabilities

To produce a range of documents as required by a specific project.
Liaise as necessary with the designer and operations personnel to determine the most suitable and practical interpretation of design requirements.
To comply with project and function specific standards and practices.
To assist in the estimation of timescales for a specific task.
To assist in the production of reports and enquiry documentation.
To assist in the training of junior members of staff and direct contract/agency personnel & technicians with their duties.
To act safely and work to eliminate hazards at source.
Produce accurate packages with minimum of rework
Produce accurate and complete records

Interfaces

Internal - Design Engineers, Operations, Commercial team and Procurement

Who we're looking for

Experience :

Essential

Cad experience - MicroStation or AutoCad
Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
Capable of managing time well and planning ahead while working on multiple projects.
ONC or equivalent in engineering discipline

Desirable

Wire Clearance Diagrams
Insulator Set Drawings (components to BS 3288)
Phasing Diagrams
Experience using BIM360 Docs.
OHL profiles
PLSCADD
