Data Cabling & Network Installation Engineer
Kemble, with regular travel | Full-time | Starting ASAP

Do you enjoy solving technical problems, being hands-on, and developing new skills? If you're motivated, practical, and take pride in delivering quality work, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a Data Cabling & Network Installation Engineer to join our growing installation team. This is a field-based role working on projects across the UK, installing structured cabling and network infrastructure in a wide range of commercial environments.

No previous experience in data cabling is essential – we will provide full training for the right candidate.

The Role:

You'll be travelling to customer sites throughout the UK, installing and maintaining structured cabling and network infrastructure for commercial clients.

Projects are typically carried out in:

Schools and colleges
Office buildings
Manufacturing facilities
Warehouses
Distribution centres
Other commercial premises

As travel is a key part of the role, overnight accommodation is provided Monday to Friday when required.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Install structured cabling including Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6A.
Install fibre optic cabling, including pre-terminated fibre.
Install and terminate network outlets.
Install wireless access points (WAPs).
Install IP CCTV cameras and associated network equipment.
Diagnose and rectify faults on structured cabling systems.
Install containment systems including trunking, PVC and steel conduit, cable tray, and basket.
Install AV equipment including large format displays and interactive screens.
Deliver a professional, courteous, and efficient service to customers.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and health & safety on every project.

What We’re Looking For:

Enthusiastic and eager to learn.
A practical problem solver with good attention to detail.
Reliable with a strong work ethic.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable travelling and working away from home during the week if necessary.
Professional when interacting with customers and other trades.

Essential Requirements

Full UK Driving Licence.
Ability to pass a DBS check.
Competent using hand and power tools.
Good communication skills.
Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away Monday to Friday when required.

Desirable Qualifications

The following are advantageous but not essential, as training can be provided:

ECS or CSCS Card.
IPAF.
PASMA.
Experience with structured cabling installations.
Fibre optic installation experience.
AV installation experience.
Network infrastructure or CCTV installation experience.
