Full job description

Head Chef – Queens Arms, Pitminster

Traditional village pub food, a Sunday roast that sells out, and a role built around a solid 4-day week.

We're looking for a chef to lead the kitchen at The Queens Arms — a busy, well-loved village pub on the edge of the Blackdown Hills. We're food-focused Thursday to Sunday, so it's a full week of hours, run across four consecutive days, not a six-day grind.

What you'd be running:

A menu that changes regularly, built around favourites, local and seasonal
Our fortnightly theme nights — planned events that pull a crowd
Sourcing and ordering with real accountability — we need someone who's as reliable on stock control and hygiene standards as they are on the pass
Maintaining our Sunday Roast standard

We're after someone who wants a kitchen they can settle into and make their own, enjoys cooking food people want to eat, and takes pride in running things properly — not just cooking well, but ordering well and keeping standards tight day to day.

We're currently owner-run in the kitchen while we find the right person, so real input into where the food goes next is on the table.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
