This Commercial Litigation Senior Solicitor job offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of commercial and civil disputes while contributing to business development, mentoring colleagues and supporting the strategic growth of the department. You will work closely with the Head of Commercial Litigation and be encouraged to develop your own client base and professional profile.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a varied commercial litigation caseload from instruction through to conclusion with minimal supervision
- Advising on commercial disputes including shareholder, partnership and directors' disputes
- Handling commercial and residential property disputes
- Managing contractual disputes, professional negligence claims and debt recovery matters
- Advising on insolvency-related litigation and enforcement proceedings
- Dealing with restrictive covenant and defamation matters where required
- Representing clients in County Court and High Court proceedings, including advocacy where appropriate
- Utilising alternative dispute resolution methods including mediation and settlement negotiations
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts
- Supporting business development initiatives, networking activities and marketing campaigns
- Monitoring financial performance, billing, work in progress and credit control matters
- Contributing to the training, supervision and development of colleagues within the department
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management requirements

- Experience conducting litigation in the County Court and High Court
- Familiarity with mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes
- Strong business development and networking skills
- Ability to supervise, mentor and support junior colleagues
