Full job description

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team. You will provide person-centred support to vulnerable adults, helping them to maintain their tenancy, improve their independence, and work towards positive outcomes.

There may be an opportunity of a more senior role supervising staff too. Also some out of hours work may be required.

You will support both men and women w experience ith a range of complex needs, including:

Mental health needs
Drug and alcohol misuse
Women fleeing domestic abuse
Homelessness or those at risk of homelessness
Social exclusion and other vulnerabilities

The role requires building trusting relationships while promoting independence, wellbeing, and recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
Complete support plans, risk assessments, and regular reviews.
Support clients to access healthcare, education, employment, training, and community services.
Promote independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and maintaining accommodation.
Safeguard vulnerable adults and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
Maintain accurate, confidential records and case notes.
Work in partnership with external agencies, including local authorities, mental health services, substance misuse services, and domestic abuse organisations.
Support clients in crisis and contribute to effective risk management.
Encourage positive engagement and empower clients to achieve their goals.
Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting vulnerable adults in supported housing, homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, or domestic abuse services.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (or willingness to drive for work purposes).
Relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, Housing, Mental Health, or a related field (Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma/NVQ or equivalent).
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and risk management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good IT skills for maintaining electronic records.

Desirable

Experience supporting women fleeing domestic abuse.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
Understanding of housing legislation and welfare benefits.
Mental Health First Aid or equivalent training.
Training in substance misuse, safeguarding, or crisis intervention.
