Full job description

We’re looking for a creative Head Pizza Chef who’s looking for a venue to have fun whilst putting their stamp on this busy pizzeria.

Job Overview:

As Head Chef you work directly with business management with a large amount of autonomy, delivering a high quality fresh pizza whilst developing the offering. Using authentic ingredients to create a great product, you will be responsible for menu creation, for team development and taking the business further including the potential opportunity for additional locations.

Your input and suggestions will be welcomed as we work together to keep The Pizza Place as the busiest Pizzeria in Manningtree.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead a small team, to provide an exceptional service to all customers and to be a brand ambassador
Work as a team member, setting an example through hard work and good working practices
Train and develop the team as well as recruit new team members when required
Maintain and develop the website and online ordering system including onsite kiosk
Scheduling of teams rota
Manage budgets and maintain GP% monthly stock takes
Work with marketing teams to create social content
Maximise the food quality and experience for customers to ensure repeat visits
Adhere to HACCP, keeping our 5 star hygiene rating.
Working 5 days a week including weekends and busy periods

Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
Attend training and meetings when required
Constantly improve product knowledge to maximise the service provided
Take a responsible approach towards timekeeping and attendance at work to ensure the pizzeria runs efficiently at all times, and to assist in the event of absence cover
Take pride in personal presentation and adhere to the company standards of appearance.
Maintain high levels of enthusiasm and commitment to every task undertaken
Be responsible for your own personal development at work and strive to be the best in what you do, taking care and pride in your work

Quality

Ensure our guests receive an exceptional level of service and want to return
Anticipate guests’ needs and provide service to exceed their expectations
Take appropriate action with regards to guest feedback
Comply with the Jolly Good Pubs operating standards

General

Understand your role and responsibilities in terms of the Health & Safety Policy including completion of all mandatory training
Assist with marketing; working with the general manager and our graphic designer to create content for social media, email-outs and printed marketing
To maintain and improve the online ordering system and kiosk, to streamline functionality and design aspect.

Success Criteria

Be on time and dress appropriately
Be positive, creative and fun - you’re in an open kitchen so interact with the customers and enjoy work
Network and become the face of The Pizza Place
Be a good egg for your colleagues too, someone to inspire and look up to.
