Full job description

A wonderful opportunity is available for the right candidate at the beautiful Lavender Fields Care Village, near Barmby Moor and Pocklington, York. We are seeking an Activities Coordinator / Assistant to join our ever-expanding team. Our village comprises a brand-new, 72-bed residential care home, alongside 29 exquisitely designed, purpose-built bungalows, with a further 19 currently under construction.

The role encompasses the day-to-day running of the activities programme within the care home, while also liaising with bungalow residents regarding their own regular events, social gatherings and get-togethers.

The successful candidate must be outgoing, approachable and an excellent communicator who is able to build positive relationships with people from all walks of life. They should also have an understanding of the care sector and the practical considerations that come with it. The role will involve helping to plan and deliver a varied programme of daily activities, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis, ensuring they are engaging and tailored to the interests and abilities of our residents. We are looking for more than just reminiscing sessions and crafts, although we recognise these will continue to form an important part of the programme.

There are already regular village meetings, days at the seaside, shopping trips to Pocklington and York retail parks, as well as meals out.

However, our care home is not just any care home! It boasts a pub, restaurant/bistro, beauty salon, gym/wellness centre and entertainment rooms. Situated within the home's 'Hub', these facilities are available for everyone living on site to enjoy, as well as providing a welcoming space to entertain family and friends. The Hub is also where many of our activities and events take place, including summer BBQs, Christmas celebrations and many other exciting opportunities to meet, socialise and make lasting memories.
