We have an amazing opportunity for a Full Time Sales Executive to join our team at our Walsall branch

Trade Sales Executive – Builders Merchants
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Salary: From £30,000 per annum
Hours: 45 hours per week, PLUS some weekends & Overtime availability

Darlaston Builders Merchants (DBM) is one of the Midlands' leading suppliers of building, landscaping, civils, and DIY materials. Operating from six branches across the Black Country and Birmingham, our team of over 90 dedicated employees has built a strong reputation over 40 years by delivering exceptional service and high-quality products at competitive prices.

Our success is rooted in the relationships our staff build with both customers and suppliers. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive work environment that values and encourages career progression.

We’re now looking for a motivated and experienced Trade Sales Executive to join our retail sales team at either our Darlaston Branch or our Walsall Branch, helping to drive sales and profitability while providing top-tier customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

· Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with customers and understanding their needs.

· Provide expert advice on products, pricing, and availability.

· Act as the go-to person for in-store customers, offering guidance and solutions.

· Build and manage customer relationships, proactively identifying sales opportunities.

· Prepare quotes, process orders, and follow up with customers to secure sales.

· Manage transactions efficiently using the till system, maintaining security awareness.

· Coordinate with the transport manager to ensure timely deliveries.

· Handle customer complaints professionally, providing prompt resolutions.

· Maintain a strong understanding of product ranges and industry trends.

· Uphold high standards of health and safety compliance.

Skills & Experience Required:

· Previous experience in a builder’s merchants, construction sales, or a similar trade environment.

· Strong customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy team.

· Confidence in handling sales inquiries, quotations, and negotiations.

· Ability to thrive under pressure and meet sales targets.

· Good command of spoken and written English.
