We're looking for a Senior Network Flow & Events Manager to take ownership of end-to-end network flow planning, ensuring the efficient movement of volume through our national operation while supporting critical service, cost, and capacity objectives.
This is a high-impact role responsible for planning and optimising network flow across both business-as-usual operations and key trading periods such as Peak, Bank Holidays, Pay Weeks, and other volume-driven events.
What You'll Be Doing
As the Senior Network Flow & Events Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in aligning volume forecasts, transport schedules, hub operations, and depot processing plans to ensure our network operates efficiently and effectively.
- Lead end-to-end operational planning across transport, hubs, depots, and network operations to ensure service commitments are achieved.
- Develop data-driven plans that balance forecast demand, capacity, and operational performance.
- Identify and mitigate network, timing, and capacity risks, implementing effective contingency plans where required.
- Drive planning and operational readiness for peak trading periods, bank holidays, and other key events.
- Analyse performance, conduct post-event reviews, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide insight, challenge, and recommendations to senior stakeholders, translating complex data into actionable decisions.
- Lead scenario planning and performance reviews to improve network efficiency, resilience, and service levels.
- Build strong relationships across Transport, Operations, Commercial, and Finance teams to ensure alignment and successful plan delivery.
- Support the development of planning tools, reporting frameworks, and operational planning standards.
- Champion initiatives that enhance operational readiness, transport utilisation, and overall network performance.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in operational, transport, network, or supply chain planning.
- Strong understanding of transport scheduling, volume forecasting, and warehouse operations.
- Experience planning for peak trading periods or large-scale operational events.
- Advanced analytical skills, including Excel modelling and scenario planning.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly.
- Highly organised, resilient, and comfortable working in fast-paced operational environments.
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- A structured, data-driven approach with strong risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
