As a Maintenance Multiskilled Fitter, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, safety and performance of manufacturing equipment across the site. This is a hands‑on position requiring strong mechanical knowledge, fault‑finding skills, and the ability to manufacture and repair precision components to support production continuity.
You will work on a wide range of assets, contributing directly to plant uptime, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe working practices within a manufacturing environment.
Role Details:
Hourly Rate: £23.32 per hour (inclusive of bonus and shift allowances)
Typical Annual Earnings: £47,292.97 (based on 39 hours per week)
Overtime: Additional overtime rates available

The role involves a 39-hour working week, rotating weekly between AM and PM shifts:
• AM Shift:
Monday to Thursday: 05:45 – 14:00
Friday: 05:45 – 12:45
• PM Shift:
Monday to Thursday: 13:45 – 23:45
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
• Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support breakdown response activities in a safe and controlled manner.
• Carry out inspections to identify deterioration, defects, or improvement opportunities.
Preventative Maintenance & Improvement
• Support the implementation and continual improvement of preventative maintenance schedules.
• Contribute practical ideas to improve reliability, safety, and asset performance.
• Assist with equipment upgrades and mechanical modifications.
Fabrication, Machining & Precision Engineering
• Use mechanical principles alongside lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment.
• Manufacture and modify precision components for jigs, fixtures, and production equipment.
• Perform accurate fitting, alignment and assembly of mechanical systems.
Systems, Records & Compliance
• Accurately record maintenance activity using the site CMMS.
• Maintain clear documentation of work completed, parts used, and follow on actions.
• Work in accordance with site procedures, health and safety legislation, and engineering best practice.
Teamwork & Communication
• Work collaboratively with maintenance colleagues, engineers, and production teams.
• Share technical knowledge and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate clearly with non technical colleagues when required.
• Completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship to L3 NVQ or higher.
• Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing or production machinery in an industrial environment
• Sound understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and precision engineering requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely, following site procedures, permits, and isolation processes.
• Experience carrying out mechanical fitting, alignment, and assembly of production equipment.
• Proven background in reactive breakdown maintenance, restoring mechanical assets safely and efficiently to minimise downtime.
• Experience delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and asset care routines to improve reliability and equipment life.
• High level mechanical fault finding and repair expertise, with hands on experience diagnosing failures across a range of production assets.
• Practical experience using workshop machinery, including lathes, milling machines, and fitting tools, to manufacture or modify components.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
