Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee daily laboratory activities, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimise operational efficiency. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing laboratory personnel, coordinating workflows, and maintaining effective communication across teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills and a background in scientific or technical environments to contribute to innovative projects within a dynamic organisation.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate laboratory activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Manage laboratory staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Oversee the procurement and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to uphold quality standards.
Facilitate effective communication between laboratory teams, management, and external partners.
Monitor workflow processes to optimise productivity and minimise errors.
Ensure accurate documentation of laboratory activities, results, and compliance records.
Organise training sessions for staff on new techniques, safety protocols, or equipment updates.
Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

Proven experience in laboratory management or a similar leadership role within a scientific or technical environment.
Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in IT systems relevant to laboratory operations, including data management software.
Experience in teaching or training staff members is highly desirable.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to laboratory settings.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, motivate staff, and foster a collaborative working environment.
Relevant qualifications in science, technology, or related fields are preferred.
