About the Role
We are looking for a Document Control and Governance Manager to help shape and embed a robust organisation-wide approach to document control and information governance. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing standards, policies, and processes that ensure information is managed effectively, consistently, and in line with statutory, regulatory, and organisational requirements. As the organisation's subject matter expert, you will play a key role in promoting best practice, providing assurance, and ensuring colleagues can access trusted, accurate, and well-managed information.
Working closely with our Data Protection Officer, Head of Data and Intelligence and Head of Application Support, you will build strong relationships across the organisation to drive a positive culture of information governance. You will lead the development of document management standards within SharePoint, supporting colleagues with guidance, training, and practical advice to help them manage information confidently and effectively. Through collaboration, oversight, and continuous improvement, you will help create a secure, compliant, and accessible environment where information can be relied upon to support great decision-making and service delivery.

About You
You will be a proactive and influential professional with significant experience in document control, records management, or information governance. You will have a strong understanding of governance frameworks and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical and effective solutions.
You will bring:
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in Information Management, IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Information Governance / Records Management qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
- Extensive knowledge and experience of information governance frameworks, records management, and document control principles.
- A sound understanding of data protection legislation, including GDPR, and information lifecycle management.
- Experience of working with enterprise document management systems, particularly SharePoint, including permissions, metadata, and document structures.
- Proven experience of developing and embedding governance frameworks across teams or organisations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess compliance, identify risks, and recommend improvements.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage colleagues at all levels.
- Experience of driving compliance, standardisation, and behavioural change across a complex organisation.
Professional qualifications in Information Governance, Records Management Data Protection, or related disciplines would be advantageous, as would experience of auditing, assurance activity, information security principles, and accessibility standards.
