About the Role

Are you an accomplished operational leader looking to take the reins of a scaling, progressive organization? We are seeking a strategic, execution-focused Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our executive board, streamline our operational architecture, and drive sustainable business growth across our teams in Bristol and beyond.

In this high-impact executive position, you will serve as the engine room of our business strategy—turning grand vision into seamless, efficient operational execution. If you excel at scaling business units, building resilient workplace cultures, optimizing cross-departmental workflows, and mentoring high-performing leaders, this is your opportunity to shape our long-term trajectory.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

Operational Leadership & Execution: Partner directly with the CEO and Board of Directors to translate company strategy into actionable operational plans, measurable KPIs, and efficient workflows.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Oversee day-to-day business operations across core departments (Operations, HR, Customer Success, Supply Chain, and Administration) to drive seamless collaboration.
Scalability & Process Optimization: Evaluate internal infrastructure, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and implement scalable systems to support business expansion.
Performance & Resource Management: Establish operational benchmarks, monitor performance metrics, manage operational budgets, and maximize resource utilization.
Culture & Team Development: Foster an inclusive, high-accountability workplace culture while mentoring department heads and operational managers.
Risk & Compliance Governance: Oversee operational risk management, vendor relationships, commercial contracts, and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

What You Bring (Requirements)

Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role (e.g., Chief Operating Officer, Operations Director, VP of Operations, or Head of Operations).
Demonstrated track record of scaling operations, improving margins, and optimizing workflows within a growing business.
Strong commercial acumen and strategic decision-making capability.
Exceptional people leadership skills with a history of coaching, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary teams.
Outstanding stakeholder management and communication abilities—able to align board-level goals with front-line execution.
Self-motivated and comfortable operating with high autonomy in a modern hybrid work setting.
