Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our childcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with young children, supporting their development and learning in a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational atmosphere that promotes early childhood growth. Previous nursery experience and a background in early childhood education are highly desirable. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to making a positive impact on children's lives.

Duties

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support children’s developmental milestones
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children under your care
Support children with their personal care routines, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene needs
Observe and record children's progress, sharing insights with parents and team members
Manage behaviour effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations within the nursery or childcare setting
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the play areas and resources
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's wellbeing and progress
Assist in organising outings or trips that enhance children’s learning experiences
Uphold all health and safety regulations in accordance with childcare standards

Qualifications

Experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting is preferred
Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education practices
Strong management and leadership skills to guide children effectively
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or home visits
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable but not essential
A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their growth
