Full job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Trade Counter Sales to help drive sales forward and build customer relations at Buttle's Builders Merchants. Based in our Leighton Buzzard branch, you will be part of a dedicated sales team committed to growing our branch sales.

You will be responsible for day to day Trade Counter sales and enquires, plus developing new and existing business opportunities. High levels of customer service are key to being successful in this role as both face to face and telephone customer liaison will be required.

Buttle’s is a growing and well-respected independent builder’s merchant with branches in St Albans & Leighton Buzzard.

Responsibilities and Duties

To fulfil customer requirements in trade shop.
To answer all customer enquiries.
To give stock and product information to customer.
To replenish stock in trade shop.
To obtain stock from warehouse / stores
Manual handling of products.
Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure the shop is kept clean, tidy and hazard free at all times.
To assist the Sales team as required.
Help and support with customer call outs.
Stock counting & maintaining stock levels.
Perform other duties as required to fulfil business objectives

Qualifications and Skills

Relevant persuasive sales, cross and upselling skills

Excellent IT Skills, written and verbal communication skills are essential

Knowledge of Bistrack or similar system is preferred. However, not essential as full training will be given

Relevant product knowledge and previous sales experience in the Timber and Building materials sector would be an advantage.
