Job Overview

Come join our team as a Casual Barista and Store Assistant! In this role, you’ll craft delicious beverages, help customers find their next favourite book and sell beautiful gifts, homeware and finds. We're looking for a friendly, welcoming individual who can serve with a smile, and ensure every guest feels welcome and valued. This position offers flexible hours all while enjoying a lively and supportive environment. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help deliver exceptional service that keeps customers coming back.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, with precision and flair
Engage with customers warmly, taking orders accurately and providing friendly service throughout their visit
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including coffee machines, counters, and seating areas
Serve a selection of cakes and warm where necessary
Follow food safety standards diligently to ensure a hygienic environment for both staff and guests
Manage cash register transactions efficiently
Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple tasks effectively with strong time management skills

Requirements

Previous barista experience is necessary
Knowledge of food safety practices to uphold hygiene standards at all times
Experience in serving customers confidently, ensuring positive interactions at every touchpoint
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
Reliable attendance and a positive attitude that contributes to a team-oriented environment

Pay: £12.80 per hour
