Full job description

Product Data & Administration Assistant

C.L. Jones is a family run Timber & Builders Merchant and has been a leading name in the construction supply industry for 40+ years. With 8 branches and 2 showrooms across North Wales, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner for builders, contractors, and DIY enthusiasts across the region.

We are currently looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join our Administration team at our Head Office in Bethesda. This is a great opportunity to join a small team in a versatile role, gaining valuable experience across product data, pricing, systems and general administration.

The role:

As a Product Data & Administration Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date product information across our systems. You will work with product data, pricing and spreadsheets, whilst also providing general administrative support across the business.

This role would suit someone who is organised, methodical and comfortable working with numbers and data, but who also enjoys variety and is keen to support different areas of the business. You may be relatively junior in your career, but we are looking for someone with the right attitude, aptitude and willingness to learn. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Typical tasks and duties:

Maintaining and updating product data across our systems and website, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
Updating selling prices and cost prices.
Creating new products and SKUs, and amending existing product records as required.
Updating product specifications, descriptions and supplier information.
Managing spreadsheets and uploading/importing data into relevant systems.
Checking data for accuracy and carrying out regular data validation.
Producing reports and providing information to support other areas of the business.
Providing general administrative support, including emails, telephone calls, filing and other office duties.
Providing support and cover for colleagues when required, helping to ensure the smooth running of the Head Office.
Working across different areas of the business and assisting with other tasks as required.

Essential skills and experience:

Good IT and numeracy skills.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
An organised and methodical approach to work.
Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
Good written and oral communication skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.

Desirable:

Previous experience working with product data or in an administrative role.
Experience using ERP or other business management systems.
Experience working with large spreadsheets or databases.
An interest in data and a "mind for numbers".
Experience of working in a busy office-based environment.
Welsh language skills are an advantage.
