Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Mechanic to maintain our golf course equipment and vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and machinery operating at the Golf Clubs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your mechanical expertise in a dynamic environment, ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently. Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and machinery using schematics and technical manuals
Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other mechanical components
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repairs, and modifications
Diagnose faults accurately and implement effective repair solutions
Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
Assist in the assembly of new equipment or vehicle components as required
Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or heavy parts or machinery
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes and maintenance needs clearly to clients
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies

Requirements

Proven experience with vehicle or equipment repair and maintenance
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
Ability to perform assembly tasks accurately and efficiently
Knowledge of equipment repair procedures and preventive maintenance practices
Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good communication skills for customer interactions and team collaboration
Relevant qualifications or certifications in automotive or mechanical engineering are preferred but not essential
