We are seeking to appoint a Faculty Head

37 Hours Per Week (max 3 to 5 teaching hours)

Aims of Job/Job Purpose

The Faculty Head role has strategic responsibility for the leadership, management and quality of provision within a faculty. Each Faculty Head will work as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) within a remit specific to their area. This will outline the key focus areas for the College and for each faculty and will be subject to the College to reflect the goals, aims and strategic objectives and priorities within FE and the College.

The Faculty Head will be responsible for all aspects of their faculty. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will contribute to and play a key role in driving forward the quality and curriculum agenda.

The Job Description for this role has been attached, please refer to it for a more detailed information.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

To provide leadership within the faculty from the SLT
To ensure full communication for the SLT to the faculty
To line manage the Deputy Heads of Faculty and Heads of School within the faculty.
To have a strategic responsibility for ensuring learners receive an outstanding experience to enable them to successfully complete their studies and progress.
To lead in ensuring standards of learners’ attainment, progress and achievement are raised within the whole faculty.
To be accountable for learner progress and development within the remit of the faculty area.
To understand the multi-faceted needs of learners with a focus on the college Inclusion Strategy.
Be accountable for compliance with all College processes and systems within your faculty.
To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum offer for learners studying within the faculty area.
To have an understanding of FE funding regulations.
To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the subject/curriculum areas within the faculty in line with the faculty remit.
To be accountable for ensuring programmes are operating within the College's quality systems, are delivered to a high standard and are providing learners with the opportunities to succeed.
To lead on the development of an inclusive curriculum and learning environment for learners, one in which diversity is reflected and valued and expectations of success are high.
Ensure the curriculum offer fits into the learning and skills environment and is responsive to employers and the community, meeting funding priorities and faculty targets.
To innovate and develop new courses and curriculum in line with government priorities, including identifying new markets, expanding work with employers and identify new learner cohorts.
