Fitness Manager – Buzz Gym High Wycombe

Reports to: Club Manager

The Role

We’re looking for an energetic and ambitious Fitness Manager to lead the fitness operation at Buzz Gym High Wycombe.

Working alongside the Club Manager, you’ll be responsible for creating an engaging member experience, developing a high-performing team of Personal Trainers and Group Exercise instructors, growing Personal Training participation and ensuring exceptional standards across the gym.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be highly visible on the gym floor, engaging with members, coaching your team and helping create the energy and atmosphere Buzz Gym is known for.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading the Fitness Team

Lead, motivate and develop our Personal Trainers and fitness team.
Recruit, onboard and retain high-quality freelance Personal Trainers.
Hold regular one-to-ones and coaching sessions.
Mentor and develop trainers to build successful careers.
Create a positive, energetic and inclusive team culture.

Creating an Amazing Member Experience

Be highly visible and active on the gym floor.
Engage with members and help them get the most from their membership.
Ensure new members receive a warm welcome.
Build strong member relationships to support satisfaction and retention.
Help create an exciting club atmosphere every day.

Growing Personal Training

Drive growth of the club’s Personal Training business.
Help PTs build sustainable client bases.
Coach trainers on lead generation, consultations, member engagement and retention.
Generate PT enquiries through gym-floor engagement.
Create opportunities for trainers through events and member challenges.

Group Exercise

Manage the club’s Group Exercise programme.
Recruit exceptional instructors.
Maintain consistently high class standards.
Monitor attendance and improve the timetable.
Support the launch of new classes and fitness initiatives.

Sales & Club Growth

Support the Club Manager in achieving membership targets.
Work closely with Membership Consultants to maximise conversions.
Promote club offers, events and referral campaigns.
Support corporate fitness events and local partnerships.
Get involved in local outreach, including businesses, events and promotional activity.

Standards & Compliance

Keep the gym floor, studios and functional areas clean, safe and operational.
Complete daily walk-rounds and equipment checks.
Report maintenance issues promptly.
Support club audits and compliance checks.
Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed.
Ensure fitness qualifications, insurance and documentation remain current.

You’ll build a thriving Personal Training team, create an energetic and welcoming gym floor, deliver outstanding member experiences and support the Club Manager in achieving the club’s performance targets.
