We have an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic team in Newton Abbot, Devon.

Age UK is recruiting for a motivated person with a passion for providing a high-quality customer service.

We are looking for a Sunday Shop Supervisor to provide a high-quality retail service, taking responsibility for running our busy shop on Sundays. This varied role will include, organising stock, displaying goods, maintaining the appearance of the shop, supporting volunteers, maximising sales and promoting Gift Aid to our valued customers.

No day is the same, and you will be joining a friendly and supportive team of colleagues and volunteers. If you want to help us to help others, this might be the job for you!

The successful applicant will be required to work 6 hours per week every Sunday. Each Sunday you will be responsible for managing the store, ensuring it showcases our wonderful donations and taking pride in maintaining a tidy and accessible space for all.

Our Newton Abbot store is based on Queen Street, Town Centre, and is just a short walk from Newton Abbot train station.

Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to handle/lift bags of stock (up to 10kgs.)

To ensure the smooth running of our stores, we will be conducting interviews throughout the advertising process. Early applications are advised.

About you:

Excellent customer service skills
Literate and numerate
An effective team player
Ability to lift and carry heavy bags of stock
A basic knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire regulations
Previous experience of working or managing a retail shop would be an advantage
A flexible approach to your job is essential
